About lead time

1. More lead time is always better.
2. Same-week requests are unlikely to be delivered on-time and will delay other projects.
3. Timeframe estimates will not be provided until we have releasable copy.
4. The size of a project determines how much advanced notice we need.
5. Lead time increases based on the:
   1. Number of tasks
   2. Size of the tasks
   3. Iteration count
   4. Scope creep
   5. Number of people involved

Rough estimates

Assuming no other projects are in front of the request AND copy is already completed AND the request is actionable:

• Recommended: ≥ 1 quarter in advance.
• Tiny project: ≥ ****5 business days.
• Small project: ≥ ****10 business days.
• Medium project: ≥ ****20 business days.
• Large project: ≥ ****40 business days.

Why does this take so long?

• Initial design research and exploration takes time.
• Multiple cycles of stakeholder review are blocked by stakeholder availability.
• Follow-up design iterations based on stakeholder feedback take time.
