What to test

Supported systems

Visitor device metrics last updated 2023-09-26

  1. Support devices and browsers that key stakeholders will be reviewing from.
  2. Industry standard business practices for businesses of our scale suggest supporting devices used by ≥ 5% of visitors. Devices with a larger portion of visitors receive a larger portion of development efforts.
  3. Certain systems like iOS block certain analytics, so a percentage of unique visitors identify as unknown.
  4. Google Analytics might omit data it can’t measure (unknown), potentially causing conflicting numbers compared to other analytics suites.
  5. Mobile visitors are likely to read email, visit landing pages, and click through ads.
  6. Desktop users are likely to consume more content and contribute more to signups.
  7. Remember that large valuable contracts might be using niche devices or have esoteric security requirements, so be mindful of your visitor needs outside of these statistics.

Window sizes

  1. Typically use 1920x1080 monitors.
  2. Greater than 75% of visitors have viewports ≥ 1280px
  3. The smallest sized non-mobile monitor with significant traffic is 1280x720.
