Considerations

We prioritize requests in the following order:

  1. Urgent
    1. The live environment is down, PII is being exposed, or some equally serious emergency needs to be taken care of.
  2. Leadership requests
    1. Happy leadership is more likely to keep us around.
  3. Investors and high value customers
    1. They give resources to leadership who give resources us.
  4. Compliance
    1. We want to avoid being legally responsible for bad things.
  5. Field marketing
    1. Events have hard deadlines with one-chance first impression physical presences at high cost and high value.
  6. Press
    1. Similar to events, but without physical presences. Press is typically handled without our involvement.
  7. Ops
    1. Marketing, business, and sales ops all intertwine with the website and directly influence pipeline.
  8. Partners and analysts
    1. These typically have flexibility, but there are also contracts and legal requirements involved.
  9. Structure
    1. IA, SEO, AEO, pagespeed optimization, and general inbound health are all necessary to generate the items below.
  10. Monitoring & analysis
    1. Theoretically websites can exist without this, but lack of it hurts everything else.
  11. Platforms
    1. Our purpose is to enable content. We can’t do that without platforms.
  12. Content
    1. Websites live and die by their content.
  13. Docs
    1. Marketing doesn’t own Docs, but we are stakeholders because our efforts are highly impacted by them.
